Pampered luxury and wonderful golf

The five-star Hotel Quinta da Marinha is one of the ‘Great Hotels of the World, Luxury Collection’. Located in the heart of the Quinta da Marinha Estate overlooking the Atlantic Ocean only 25 kilometres from Lisbon this superb golfing resort is just five minutes, by shuttle bus, from the centre of the cosmopolitan, affluent and lively coastal resort of Cascais which has numerous attractions, restaurants, shops and bars. Rooms are air-conditioned with private balconies and have views over the pool, the golf course or the Sintra Mountains. The hotel has been completely refurbished and now has a Wellness Centre with a gym, indoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath and a Spa offering massage and treatments.

There is a great choice of dining; Five Pines offers buffet breakfast and dinner, Cosi Fan Tutte is a superb Italian restaurant, Rocca a gourmet Portuguese restaurant, the Monte Mar offers al fresco dining overlooking the Atlantic and the Trent Jones bar always offers a warm welcome.

Your holiday includes four rounds of mixed betterball stableford golf with three rounds played over Quinta da Marinha and one round played over Oitavos. Quinta da Marinha, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr, has been host to the Ladies Masters, PGA Seniors and the Challenge Tour, whilst Oitavos has been host the Portuguese Open twice in recent years. Both courses are beautifully presented with manicured fairways and superb greens laid out amongst the fragrant pine woodland, tranquil lakes and forested dunes of the Quinta da Marinha Estate and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty, with amazing, panoramic views of the rugged coastline and the deep blue Atlantic Ocean and inland to the Sintra Mountains.

On free days you can play golf (chargeable) at local courses including Penha Longa, explore the resort, visit Cascais, Sintra or Lisbon, take advantage of nearby beaches or just relax by the pool. The weather in Cascais during early October is usually hot and sunny with daytime temperatures around 75°F and light sea breezes.

FLIGHTS: Flights can be booked for you as part of an inclusive package, or you may book the flights yourselves. The price shown excludes flights. For your complete financial security Fairways are agents for ATOL/ABTA Tour Operators and flights booked for you are ATOL protected. It is advisable to book early for the best flights from your preferred airport at a low price.

GOLF: You will play each of the four mixed stableford competitions with your partner and be paired with different couples. Our aim is to promote social golf and friendly competition at first class golfing hotels where you can enjoy fine cuisine, good company and play golf over superb courses. Ladies will always play from the Ladies Tees using the Ladies Stroke Index. Prizes are awarded for each round and the overall winners will receive the Marinha Trophy.
